Yes, you can deregister your car online – via the i-Kfz portal using the exposed security codes, or through our service by power of attorney. You only need registration certificate Part I and the plates with their security codes. When do I have to deregister my car?
Before scrapping, during longer non-use, or when a buyer does not take the vehicle over themselves. Deregistration (taking out of service) ends the vehicle tax and the insurance obligation.
Which documents do I need to deregister?
The registration certificate part I and the plates with the security codes (stamp stickers). An eVB insurance number is not required for deregistration.
Can deregistration be done online?
Yes. Via the revealed security codes on the sticker and registration certificate, the taking-out-of-service can be authorised online – no appointment and no trip to the office.
