Deregister a car – online and without a trip to the office
Whether for a sale, scrapping or a longer standstill – a vehicle has to be deregistered so that tax and insurance end. We handle that online for you.
When do I have to deregister my car?
Before scrapping, during longer non-use, or when a buyer does not take the vehicle over themselves. Deregistration (taking out of service) ends the vehicle tax and the insurance obligation.
Which documents do I need to deregister?
The registration certificate part I and the plates with the security codes (stamp stickers). An eVB insurance number is not required for deregistration.
Can deregistration be done online?
Yes. Via the revealed security codes on the sticker and registration certificate, the taking-out-of-service can be authorised online – no appointment and no trip to the office.
What does deregistration cost?
The official fee is low; our transparent service fee is added on top. Before payment you see both items listed separately – with no hidden costs.
