When you buy a used car, the vehicle must be transferred to the new owner. Today this can be done entirely online.
When is a transfer needed?
Whenever a vehicle changes owner – for example when buying a used car or moving to a different registration district.
Documents you need
Registration certificate Part I and II with the security codes, the new owner's ID card and an eVB number. The code on Part II authorizes the online transfer.

Can I keep the plate?
Within the same registration district the plate can usually be kept. If the district changes, you get a new one.
