The country's biggest city – and exactly two registration offices
Berlin is an extreme case among German registration districts: the entire capital – from Spandau to Köpenick, from Pankow to Lichtenrade – is served by exactly two locations of the vehicle registration authority. It is not run by a district office but by the Landesamt für Bürger- und Ordnungsangelegenheiten (LABO) at Jüterboger Str. 3, 10965 Berlin (Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg) and Ferdinand-Schultze-Str. 55, 13055 Berlin (Lichtenberg). If you live in Reinickendorf or Marzahn, a trip across the city is guaranteed – preceded by Berlin's most famous hurdle of all: getting an appointment.
Nothing happens on site without an appointment
Visiting the registration office in person is only possible with a booked appointment; slots are issued centrally via service.berlin.de or by phone through the service number 030 90269-3300. How quickly you get one depends on timing – and in Berlin it is better not to count on it. At least LABO publishes the current processing time for its dealer counter daily, so you can see how busy the authority is.
The i-Kfz portal – digital, but with a catch
Berlin is actually one of the more active districts when it comes to digitalisation: registration, day registration and deregistration can be applied for online via the i-Kfz portal, deregistration now even without an authentication hurdle. The catch is stated in the official portal itself: using the new i-Kfz portal requires the BundID, plus an ID card with activated online function and PIN or an ELSTER certificate. Many people fail at the login, not the application. And legal entities, company cars with a different keeper, or special cases end up needing an appointment anyway.
Or skip the appointment and the BundID entirely
That is exactly where we come in – as a private registration service acting on your behalf, not as an authority. You enter the details from your registration document and eVB online, sign a power of attorney digitally, and we handle the government part including plate embossing and delivery anywhere in Berlin. No appointment, no BundID, no trip to Jüterboger Straße. Prices are fixed up front: registration from €89.99, ownership transfer from €89.99, deregistration €18.29. Official fees are always itemised separately, so you can see what is service and what the authority charges.
From Spandau to Köpenick – all of Berlin is our delivery area
Our service covers all twelve boroughs: Mitte, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Pankow, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Spandau, Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Neukölln, Treptow-Köpenick, Marzahn-Hellersdorf, Lichtenberg and Reinickendorf. Your B plate naturally stays yours – and we can reserve your personalised plate at the same time. We also work nationwide for the Berlin commuter belt: whether the car is in Potsdam, Falkensee or Bernau changes nothing about the process.
