A short-term plate allows trips for a test drive, transfer or the technical inspection (TÜV) – valid for a maximum of five days. We apply for it on your behalf.

A short-term licence plate is valid for a maximum of five days and is meant for test drives, transfers or the trip to the TÜV. You need ID, a special eVB number for short-term plates and usually a valid inspection certificate. Costs are typically 50–80 €. With us you apply online without an appointment.

For test drives, transferring a purchased vehicle to another city, or driving to the technical inspection (TÜV). It is valid for a maximum of five days from issue.

Does the vehicle need a valid TÜV?
For trips on public roads a valid technical inspection is usually required. Special rules apply for the drive to the inspection itself – we advise you on the right plate.
